Christina Plowman
Chris Plowman, Principal
I am the daughter of a career Air Force veteran. I came to South Carolina as a teen and fell in love with the beach and a boy. He and I have now been married for the past 36 years! I’ve been blessed with two children and three grandchildren! Leslie, my daughter, is 30 and is an aesthetic nurse in Maryland where her husband, Jessie, is stationed with the Army. Their sons, Noah and Lincoln, and baby Kennedy are the new lights of my life! Brody, my son, is 26 and lives in Conway. We have two cats, Mia and Chanelle, and 287 rabbits who roam our woods. We enjoy scuba diving, jeeping, motorcycle riding, traveling to new places, and trying new foods. In my quiet time, I LOVE to read.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from University of South Carolina at Coastal in 1993. I received my Masters in Technology in Education from Lesley University and my administrative leadership degree from University of South Carolina in Columbia. I’m a Gamecock through and through! I have been teaching, learning and leading for the past 30 years. My journey has included teaching 2nd through 6th grade, teaching gifted and talented, mentoring pre-service teachers and accomplished teachers working towards National Board Certification and most recently serving as an assistant principal before becoming the principal at Pee Dee. I love that I get to lead and serve while sharing my passion for learning. I’m grateful that God has opened the door for me to do that at Pee Dee Elementary.

Wendye McGuirt, Assistant Principal
I am currently in my 15th year as Assistant Principal of Pee Dee Elementary. I grew up right here in Conway and attended Homewood Elementary, West Conway Middle (Whittemore Park) and Conway High School. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the College of Charleston and a Masters in Administration from the University of South Carolina! Go Gamecocks!
I am married to Kevin and we have two children, Will Hardee and Marleigh. We stay busy when we are not at school. You can find us camping, fishing, at the ballfield or at dance classes and competitions! I am so blessed to be a part of the Pee Dee Elementary family. Building relationships with students and families is very important to me. I welcome the opportunity to meet with parents, students and community members at any time!

Emily Salley, Assistant Principal
I am blessed to serve as one of the Assistant Principals at PDE. My husband and I have three daughters and live in the Aynor area. As a proud alumnus of Columbia College, USC and CCU, I am a lifelong learner. Prior to joining the Busy Bee family, I was a Speech Pathologist for 22 years with Horry County Schools. This is my 25th year in public education and is an honor to work alongside the parents, teachers, and staff at PDE as we watch our students grow into amazing young men and women.
